Another Endangered Species Added to the Dakota ZooThe Dakota Zoo is excited to announce the opening of the Whooping Crane exhibit, located on the Wilderness Trail area near the African Penguin Habitat. This spacious new exhibit is home to our male “Lancelot” and female “Nelson,” who came to the Dakota Zoo last fall from the Calgary Zoo. In addition to exhibiting this rare species, the Dakota Zoo has signed on to provide any needed assistance with rehabilitating wild cranes that become injured or need help during their spring and fall migrations.
