UPDATE 7/29/2026: On Monday, July 27, 2026, at approximately 1:30 am, Troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack responded to the Wildewood Community Center, located at 23060 Wildewood Drive, California, MD, for the report of an assault and shots fired. If anyone in the Wildewood Community has a home security system, we are asking you to review any events that may have occurred around the time of the incident. 911 callers reported an assault occurred with one male suffering an ankle injury, while the assault occurred, multiple suspects pulled out firearms. While investigating, Troopers responded to the Wawa for the reports of a shooting. Troopers arrived to find a sedan with multiple bullet holes and two flat tires parked at a gas pump.
