Hamilton Police Sniff Out Perfume ThievesHamilton Police were on the scent this afternoon, sniffing out four alleged perfume thieves this afternoon in a little over an hour. Shortly before 2pm, Police received a call reporting that staff at a store at The Base had been assaulted and thousands of dollars’ worth of perfume had been taken. Senior Sergeant Pete Simpson says Police have responded immediately and received quick information at the scene on the likely identity of one of the youths. The stolen items were recovered by around 3:15pm, and the four youths involved taken into custody. "This is a brilliant result, thanks to prompt information from the public both in the 111 call and at the scene," Senior Sergeant Simpson says.
