When Lucas Brookman attended his first Maidstone United coaching session at the age of five, little did he know that 13 years later he would be part of the club’s first-team squad. Having represented the Stones at every age group from under-7s through to under-23s, he has now been rewarded with a contract for the 2026/27 season. His goalkeeping talent was recognised from a young age and, while playing for Maidstone United in the Kent Youth League, his performances stood out. Between the under-13s and under-16s age groups, he won two league titles, two county cups and one league cup. Last season, he made 18 appearances as the Stones’ under-23s side won the SCEFL Development Eastern title.
