Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza says the city council’s decision to dismiss three senior managers following disciplinary proceedings is part of consequence management for wrongdoing. Speaking to Newzroom Afrika after the council took the resolution, Xhakaza said Monyepao’s case related to mismanagement in the city’s ICT department. The Independent Investigative Police Directorate (IPID) had recommended disciplinary action against Mkhwanazi after an investigation. Authorities recently arrested and charged Behari, Gxasheka and former City Manager Dr Imogen Mashazi on various charges related to the matter. Ekurhuleni mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has confirmed the dismissal of Kemi Behari, Linda Gxasheka and Moloko Monyepao.
