MOKOKCHUNG, JULY 31 (MExN): The District Congress Committee (DCC), Mokokchung, on Friday claimed that an internal verification found that a majority of signatures attached to a purported resignation letter circulating in public were either invalid or did not constitute genuine resignations from the Indian National Congress. In a press release, the DCC stated that it had initiated an internal verification process immediately after the circulation of a document claiming the resignation of a large number of Congress workers in the district. The committee also stated that 10 of the signatures belonged to individuals whose party memberships remain unapproved. The DCC also thanked party workers who had clarified their positions and reaffirmed their commitment to the Congress. It maintained that the party remained committed to strengthening its organisation and serving the people of Mokokchung, while urging party workers, supporters and the public to rely on information disseminated through official party channels.
