Some popular Boundary Waters entry points near Ely reopen to day use

On Saturday, the U.S. Forest Service announced the reopening of a number of entry points for overnight visits beginning Aug. 5.
Permit reservations for entry points not listed in Exhibit A or B are cancelled through August 10, the Forest Service announced.
Property owners continue to be allowed to return, and now limited wilderness travel is possible, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Entry points 14— Little Indian Sioux River North, 15 — Sioux-Hustler Trail, and 19 — Stuart River, will be cancelled through the end of the quota permit season on September 30.
Several camping and boating sites in the Kawishiwi District also reopened Friday.
