This farm was located across the road from the future site of the No. 43 Lord Sherbrooke Military Camp on Drummond Road (rue Galt Ouest since 1952). Frank McCrea then joined the Montreal Light Plane Club and obtained his pilot’s license. An article in the Sherbrooke Daily Record of December 1927, mentioned that Frank Wakefield McCrea was the president of the Model Airplane Club of Sherbrooke and that he wanted the city to have an airport. On November 22, 1928, a citizens’ committee held a meeting with the aim of forming an aviation school under the auspices of International Airways.
