The 18th annual Hamilton International Film Festival brought together filmmakers from Portugal, New Zealand, Mexico, Ireland and beyond at the Hamilton Movie Theater from July 20-26. Sponsored by Slater Brothers Entertainment, the festival featured documentaries, dramas, thrillers, horrors, comedies and student films. The Hamilton Theater was full of laughter at the film’s jokes based around 80s culture. As the film played, the theater lost its echo of roaring laughter and transitioned to a solemn silence. This festival also gave students and aspiring filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their work.
