When President Muhammadu Buhari flagged off the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline in June 2020, the project was presented as a game changer. The AKK pipeline was designed to transport two billion standard cubic feet of natural gas daily. It was equally intended to reconnect the eastern, western and northern gas networks while laying the foundation for the ambitious Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline. The AKK pipeline must not join that infamous list. The AKK pipeline was launched with great fanfare.
