Kaizer-ChiefsFernando da Cruz has defended his absence from mainstream coaching prior to taking up the Kaizer Chiefs head coach job. So, for the past three years he hasn’t been a head coach having had a brief run as assistant coach at Chiefs before taking employment as one of the technical heads reporting to Jamal Fathi at the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. "But before the Morocco Federation job, I trained AS FAR," says Da Cruz in a defensive tone when asked about having been away from the demands of being a head coach. The 53-year-old has the task of taking Chiefs upwards of where Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze left the club. Chiefs the season on Saturday evening against Kruger United at Mbombela Stadium.
