Dylan Murphy, who has spent the past eight years as a member of the Magic organization, is being hired by Michigan men’s basketball program as an assistant coach, reports Alejandro Zuniga of The Michigan Insider. Murphy will be joining the staff of Mike Boynton Jr., who took over as head coach of the Wolverines when Dusty May was hired by the Mavericks. After spending seven seasons as Oklahoma State’s head coach, Boynton was an assistant under May each of the past two seasons. Murphy was hired by the Magic as a basketball operations analyst for the coaching staff in 2018 and was promoted to an assistant coach in 2020. In 2023, he took over as head coach of the Osceola Magic, Orlando’s affiliate club.
