While it was supposed to a temporary one-year commitment, the Stratford Police Service Board announced Thursday it has extended Chief Paul Landers contract for another 10 months, which will leave him in the role until the end of 2027. Landers, who came out of a four-year retirement, arrived in Stratford with nearly four decades of experience in policing. Landers has been key in the ongoing development of the Stratford department’s new strategic plan, the board added. “I was happy to help,” Landers added. Having Landers continue will help provide support to Clarke as he transitions into the role, Ritsma said.
