Mr. Hewey Dorsey “Drake” Drake was born on May 20, 1945, in Appling County, Baxley. He was the first of eight children born to the late Mr. Willie James Drake and Mrs. Jossie Lou Drake. On Saturday, May 17, Mr. Drake was called from labor to reward. Drake was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James and Jossie Lou Drake; brothers, James David Drake, Edward Drake, and Clifford Drake; sisters, Ms. Magaline Drake Holmes, Ms. Gwendolyn Drake Powell, and Charlotte Marie Drake; daughter, Keisha Drake and grandson, Zaedyn Corley. A funeral service was held for Hewey Dorsey Drake on Saturday, May 24, at Life Cathedral Mission Inc. Apostle Lorraine Drake was the Eulogist for the ceremony and Bishop Larry M. Rayner presided over the ceremony.
