The Dodgers on Friday placed Brock Stewart on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder discomfort, and called up veteran left-hander Cole Irvin from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take down bulk innings in the planned bullpen game in the series opener against the Boston Red Sox at Dodger Stadium. Since the Dodgers acquired Stewart at the trade deadline in 2025, he's been on the active roster for 43 games and on the injured list for 119 games through Thursday, before this new IL stint. Irvin leads the Pacific Coast League in ERA and wins (nine) this season. Irvin earlier this week was slated to start Friday for Oklahoma City before major league needs took precedence. McDermott pitched in two games for the Dodgers and allowed two runs in 2 1/3 innings, with one strikeout.
