The Anchor, a non-profit and substance-free transitional housing program, has opened in space at the former SCITS high school in Sarnia.
The Anchor, a non-profit and substance-free transitional housing program, has opened in space on the third floor of the former Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical School in Sarnia.
A board of directors is in place and The Anchor is registered as a non-profit organization, Bentley said.
There are plans to seek charitable status and support from donors, but the program isn’t relying on government funding, he said.
About 20 beds are ready now and there’s room on the same floor for the program to grow, as needed.
