The Athletics are calling up infielder Jonathan Ornelas, reports Francys Romero of BeisbolFR. Ornelas, 26, just signed a minor league deal with the A’s last week. He spent most of this year with the Yankees on a minor league deal but opted out of that pact earlier this month, which allowed the A’s to scoop him up. Between the two clubs, he has a .310/.378/.505 line in 308 Triple-A plate appearances this year. In his big league career, with consists of just 32 games, Ornelas has been a light-hitting infielder.
