Over the past 27 years, the City of Brantford has received more than $110 million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for “hosting” one of the province’s casinos.
On Wednesday, representatives from the city and the OLG gathered in Mohawk Park to “acknowledge the significant impact those revenues have made on the community,” said a news release.
Since the casino opened in 1999, the city has re-invested casino funds through annual contributions to not-for-profit organizations, administered by the Brant Community Foundation.
“Since this program’s inception, the city has proudly re-invested these funds through annual contributions to support the efforts of various not-for-profit organizations in our community,” said Mayor Kevin Davis.
“We are deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership with OLG and for their ongoing commitment as a corporate citizen and generous contributor to Brantford’s growth and well-being.”
