Greg Lopez, who served a six-month stint as a Republican congressman for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District from 2024 to 2025, will be on the November ballot as an unaffiliated candidate for Colorado governor. He will face Republican candidate Victor Marx , a ministry leader, and Democratic Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser , who is widely seen as the race’s front-runner. Lopez left the Republican Party in January, choosing to run as an unaffiliated candidate for governor this year. Voter turnout surged in this year’s primary elections , driven in part by a strong showing for Democratic candidates who were aided by unaffiliated voters. That represents a major turnaround from the 2022 primaries , in which 53% of unaffiliated voters cast ballots for Republicans.
