It is with great sorrow that we share the peaceful passing of Lloyd Thomas Northup Jr. on July 28, 2026, surrounded by his high school sweetheart, his beloved wife of 68 years, Rose Laranjo Northup, and his devoted family. A lifelong resident of Newport, Rhode Island, Lloyd was born on October 12, 1938, to Mary Botelho Northup and Lloyd Thomas Northup Sr. An avid outdoorsman, Lloyd found great joy in fishing and boating. Professionally, Lloyd enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career with Raytheon, where he served as a foreman and supervisor in the Transducer Department. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Helen Ruggeri; and his beloved son, Lloyd Thomas Northup III.
