On Wednesday, Bitola businessperson Borche Markovski, who’s the Honorary Consul of Belarus in North Macedonia, was held at the Tabanovce crossing, but following verification checks, he was allowed to leave the country as there was no active measure against him that would prevent him from crossing the state border, the 360 Stepeni portal has reported. Telma asked the Interior Ministry about the matter. The institution said that ban measures on leaving the country were determined by a relevant court or another relevant body, while police acted exclusively upon adopted and active decisions recorded in official systems. The return of his passport is not the first controversy surrounding the court process against the businessperson, given that the Judicial Council established that a council at the Basic Court in Bitola had been allegedly formed in favor of the owner of MARKOVSKI KOMPANI in order for him to be released from detention. Markovski is one of the suspects in the case concerning the around 1.97-million-dollar tender to relocate plant stations from Oslomej to the Bitola plant.
