Deputy Governor of the Bank of Namibia, Leonie Dunn said the future of payments will not be shaped by regulation or technology alone, but it will also be shaped by collaboration, at the launch of the 2025 Annual Report of the Payments Association of Namibia (PAN) where they also celebrated their 20th anniversary. Held under the theme, ‘20 Years of Evolution: Building Trust in Namibia’s National Payment System, the launch was followed by the Annual General Meeting were members reflected on the Association’s performance during the 2025 financial year. PAN Chairperson, Kenandei Tjivikua said the Association’s 20 year journey reflects the power of collaboration in building a payment system that continues to evolve with the needs of the country. Deputy Governor Dunn said sustained cooperation between regulators, payment service providers, payment system operators, fintechs and the broader industry is essential as the sector becomes increasingly interoperable and digital. PAN acting Chief Executive, Mbapeua Kauuova said the 2025 Annual Report highlights significant progress made during the reporting period on modernising Namibia’s payment landscape.
