Photographs taken on the evening of July 29 show dozens of bin bags and household items strewn along the path leading to the Ropes on the Rye Playspace. The rubbish included clothing, empty food containers, bathmats and pillows, creating an unsightly scene near one of the town's busiest green spaces. A visitor from Ipswich, Suffolk, who was in the area seeing family, described the incident as a "shame", but said the actions of those responsible did not reflect High Wycombe as a whole. Anyone caught fly-tipping or littering in Buckinghamshire faces a minimum £500 fine, with penalties increasing depending on the severity of the offence.
