While not an official public holiday, it can be observed as a day off for many workers and is seen as the only holiday between Canada Day and Labour Day. If you’re looking for things to do close to home, there are a number of events happening in the Brockville area over the three-day weekend. The headlining event was to be the postponed Canada Day fireworks – the show was canceled on Canada Day due to inclement weather, and was moved to this Sunday night. Sadly, the weather proved a spoiler again, and the fireworks have now been postponed to the end of the month.
