Central Region began their title defence with a 2-1 victory over Greater Accra in their opening fixture of the Elite U17 Girls Colts Championship in Prampram. Lordina Sam restored parity for the defending champions before Benedicta Abakah snatched a late winner in the final minutes to hand Central Region maximum points. Ashanti Region thrashed Volta Region 4-0 in the last game of the opening day. Franklina Onyina asserted her dominance with a hat-trick to put the game beyond Volta Region. Georgette Torsu also got on the scoresheet to wrap up a 4-0 win for Ashanti Region.
