Comments for Hoops Rumors
July 31: Wagner’s new deal with Brooklyn is official, the team announced (via Twitter).
July 1: Free agent big man Moritz Wagner is making the move from Orlando to Brooklyn, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, who reports (via Twitter) that Wagner and the Nets have agreed to a two-year, $19MM contract.
Scotto adds that the second year will include a mutual option, similar to the one the Nets are also giving guard Keon Ellis on his two-year, $18MM deal.
Wagner returned to play 36 games this past season, contributing 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game.
He wasn’t part of the Magic’s rotation in the playoffs, receiving just 13 garbage-time minutes, but drew interest well above what a cap-strapped Orlando team could reasonably offer.
