Upgraded NH90 Caïman HelicopterThe French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) delivered the first NH90 Caïman Standard 2 helicopter to the French Army's special forces yesterday. This upgrade of the NH90 Caïman will provide the special forces with new intervention capabilities adapted to their missions in all types of theaters of operation. The DGA, through NATO's Nahema agency, has ordered 18 NH90 Caïman Standard 2 helicopters from the NH Industries consortium to equip the 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment in Pau (64). This 10.6-ton twin-engine aircraft provides special forces with a more modern and powerful tool, boasting increased range and payload capacity. The NH90 Caïman special forces helicopter is developed through European cooperation by the NH Industries consortium , comprised of Airbus Helicopters , Leonardo, and Fokker.
