In the wake of his engagement to pop star Madison Beer, Herbert told reporters his proposal was "for sure" more nerve-wracking than making his first career NFL start. Beer announced the couple's engagement on Tuesday in a post on Instagram captioned, "Meet my fiancé." Herbert and Beer went public with their relationship shortly before the start of the 2025 NFL regular season. Herbert famously made his first NFL start in Week 2 of the 2020 season after Tyrod Taylor was a late scratch due to a punctured lung from an injection by a team doctor.
