He fanned 27.7% of opponents against a 9.3% walk rate and saw his HR/9 mark plummet to 0.72. Greene’s 2025 ERA was a nearly identical 2.76 but came with better rate stats: 31.4% strikeout rate and 6.2% walk rate. He was rocked for eight runs in 3 1/3 innings in his first start back on July 4. Greene’s 7.06 ERA in four starts is an eyesore, but his 30.9% strikeout rate and 7.4% walk rate are excellent. The Reds hold a club option on him for the 2029 season that’s valued at $21MM and comes with a $2MM buyout.
