Around 15 volunteers turned out for the first Make Britain Beautiful community clean-up in Redditch on Saturday (25 July), removing around 22 bags of rubbish, tackling overgrown weeds and even finding a £10 note (which was given to the foodbank). The organisers said the day demonstrated just how much could be achieved when local people, community organisations and local partners work together. The organisers say they plan to hold regular Make Britain Beautiful clean-up events across Redditch before expanding the initiative into other towns and communities.
