STAPLES — The Old Wadena Rendezvous and Chautauqua festival will return to the historic Old Wadena Park and Campground, 13491 Old Wadena Circle in Staples, beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, through Sunday, Aug. 9, offering festival-goers a chance to journey back in time through music, art, food and immersive frontier-era demonstrations. Today, the Old Wadena Park is owned by the county and is cared for by Old Wadena Society board members. The annual Old Wadena Rendezvous and Chautauqua features live music throughout the two-day event held on the banks of the Crow Wing River at Old Wadena Park and Campground. Other activities include leather-making, face painting, make-and-take activities and educational opportunities to learn about the geology and ecology of Old Wadena with Dick Oehlenschlager.
