GRAND FORKS — UND’s softball program on Thursday afternoon announced it signed Kat Montuya as a second assistant coach for the upcoming season. “I am honored to join the UND softball program and can’t wait to get started,” said Montuya. Montuya last served as a graduate assistant at Wagner College, where she was also the director of softball operations during her tenure. As Wagner’s director of softball operations, she coordinated day-to-day operations for the program, planned team travel and managed the team’s equipment. Before her time at Wagner, Montuya was a four-year starter at UC Riverside, where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
