As reproduction technology and public taste evolved, so did this art form.
The coloring and emphasis on particular public figures is also often altered to appeal to regionalized tastes.
I’m sure their predecessors in the Georgian period could similarly co-opt their critics on occasion, but they were still susceptible to public shaming.
