Review: I Want Your Sex
['Joey Shapiro']
Chicago Reader
Does a married actor appearing in a sex scene count as infidelity?
If there’s a common thread through Araki’s mid-90s run of cult films, it’s that they follow alienated slackers committing crimes, doing drugs, and having copious amounts of sex to wall-of-noise shoegaze music.
This is a profoundly horned up movie, one that (fitting the title) revolves entirely around sex and desire.
If Araki had focused on the office BDSM antics instead of turning it into a quasi-thriller, I Want Your Sex would be a major return to form.
Still, the message comes through: Sex is dangerous, danger is sexy, and it is imperative that the young men of America maintain an open mind about getting pegged.
