A Chatham-Kent councillor is looking to address the remaining unused rail crossing in Wallaceburg at the next council meeting.
Councillor Aaron Hall brought forth a notice of motion on Monday to request a report from administration on the number of unused rail crossings in Wallaceburg, their condition and the cost to remove them.
The former WDC Railway crossings around Wallaceburg have not seen rail traffic for several years, with Hall noting that the rail crossing at Dufferin Avenue was paved over during a recent road rehabilitation project.
Hall said residents have expressed concerns over the condition and usefulness of the rail crossing across Wallaceburg.
Councillor Hall also wants the report to include a status and property standards update on the rail bridge over the Sydenham River in Wallaceburg.
