The top ten countdown of moments from Pella High School continues back at another state tournament and another special season for a standout Pella athlete. Katie Scheckel was named the Class 4A volleyball of the year for a second consecutive season in 2025, leading the Dutch to the final four of Class 4A and the state tournament. Scheckel tallied 407 kills, 313 assists, 332 digs, and 58 service aces, becoming just one of a few athletes ever in state history to tally 1,000 kills, assists, and digs in a career. The Dutch defeated Norwalk 3-1 in the state quarterfinals (25-22, 29-31, 25-17, 25-21) to cap a strong fall season led by multiple seniors, including Brooke Schulte, Elah Hiemstra, Olivia Lowery, Olivia Cutler, and Abbie Brand in the varsity starting lineup.
