"If we have something that can inactivate the virus in the environment before reaching the birds, this will be great," said Sayedahmed. Controlled trials will measure the effectiveness of the system in reducing virus concentrations in the air, on surfaces and in birds. The team will also track production metrics including weight gain, feed conversion and egg production to assess any impact on the birds.
