New bleachers, featuring wider seats, handrails and ADA-accessible ramps on both sides of the bleachers, were installed over the summer. “You do what you can with what’s available; you have to do it in waves,” said Joshua Nichols, Amboy Community Unit District 272 superintendent. In a win for another local organization, the old bleachers were donated to the Lee County 4-H Fairgrounds. Volunteers from the fair board and Eisele Crane Service removed the old bleachers on March 28. The old bleachers were repaired and refurbished to be used for additional grandstand seating at the fairgrounds.
