Water finally restored for 18 homes hours after water main break in North Philly

Over a dozen homes were without water for hours on Thursday afternoon after a water main break, according to a spokesperson with the Philadelphia Water Department.
A 13-inch water main broke near the intersection of 18th and Wingohocking streets in the Hunting Park neighborhood of North Philadelphia around Noon on July 30, officials said.

The Philadelphia Water Department repaired more than 300 water main breaks during the first two quarters of this fiscal year, according to the most recent city manager's report.
