Georgia’s real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.6% year-on-year in June 2026, according to rapid estimates released by the National Statistics Office (Geostat) on July 31. The latest official figures come as international financial institutions continue to project robust, albeit moderating, economic growth for Georgia in 2026. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in its latest report, raised its 2026 growth forecast for Georgia to 6% and projected growth to moderate to 5% in 2027. The United Nations and the World Bank also expect Georgia’s economy to continue growing this year, although at a slightly slower pace. The United Nations World Economic Situation and Prospects 2026 report projects growth at 5.4% in 2026, while the World Bank report estimates Georgia’s economic growth at 5.5% in 2026 and forecasts average growth of 3.5% across the South Caucasus in 2025-2026, “as spillovers from trade intermediation, labor and capital inflows continue to diminish.”
