2026 APEC Ministerial Meeting On ForestryJuly 28, 2026Joint Statement of the 2026 APEC Ministerial Meeting on Forestry (MMRF6)1. We, the Ministers and representatives attending the 2026 APEC Ministerial Meeting on Forestry (MMRF6) in Shenzhen, the People's Republic of China, on 27-28 July 2026;2. Recalling the significant achievements made by APEC economies since the previous APEC Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Forestry (MMRF), in advancing forestry policy dialogue and practical cooperation on combating illegal logging and facilitating trade in legally harvested forest products, and Sustainable Forest Management(SFM), including conservation and restoration of forests in the Asia-Pacific region;3. Noting the theme of APEC 2026 “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together” and China’s APEC priorities of “Openness, Innovation, Cooperation”, and recognizing the important role of forests and forestry in advancing economic growth, biodiversity conservation, ecological well-being, and a prosperous Asia-Pacific region;5. Recognizing the importance that APEC has placed on forest landscape restoration and the increase in forest cover across the APEC region, and underscoring the need to further enhance evidence-based SFM;7.
