Lyttelton Port Belongs To Our Community, Not Corporate Power29 July 2026As the date of CCHL’s deliberation on the proposal from Dubai-based DP World to privatise control of Lyttelton Port draws near, concerned residents of Christchurch and Lyttelton are preparing to mobilise as part of the Keep Our Port Public campaign.

A new website launched earlier this month giving all New Zealanders the opportunity to sign a petition opposing the privatisation of Lyttelton Port, as well as email the offices of the Mayor and the Chair of CCHL directly.
“Together, we can show that Christchurch stands for public ownership and a future that puts people before profit,” Dr McCluskey says.
