A 68-year-old man was killed by a gaur in Kulathupuzha early Thursday morning, sparking panic across the eastern forest fringes of Kollam.Basheer, a headload worker, met a gruesome death after being attacked by a gaur on the Kulathupuzha main road. Wild animals, including gaurs, have been frequently intruding into residential areas across Kulathupuzha. "Alongside devastating crops, these animals routinely attack residents. They demand immediate to contain gaurs and other wild animals within the forest boundaries. The residents of Kulathupuzha demand stepping up surveillance, repairing and strengthening border fencing and ensuring round-the-clock RRT patrolling along the forest fringes to restore safety.
