A vehicle took out a utility pole on North Main Street in Leitchfield. The crash happened Thursday morning at approximately 9:20 in the 700 block of North Main Street and resulted in the Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments as well as EMS responding to the scene. Upon arriving at the crash, first responders found that a southbound Ford Escape, being driven by an 80-year-old Breckinridge County woman, left the roadway and struck a (Windstream) utility pole, snapping it in half. Police said the driver, who refused medical treatment, was not sure how or why she left the roadway. One lane of the roadway at the crash site was shut down as first responders worked the scene and the vehicle was removed from the ditch.
