Sonic Youth co-founder and pioneering experimental-rock guitarist Lee Ranaldo has reimagined his original soundtrack for The System, reshaping the music into a newly sequenced album featuring previously unreleased material. Black and colored vinyl editions will follow October 2 via Silver Current Records and are available to pre-order now. The film follows three climate activists confronting a political and economic system they see as increasingly hostile to meaningful environmental change. From there, the album moves through an evolving sequence of drones, acoustic passages, improvisations, and environmental textures.
