Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has sharply criticized Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of lying about an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.    In a Thursday interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Keyamo did not mince words: “That man was lying. He lies like a fish drinking water. He lies. He lies for fun.”    The controversy stems from Obi’s earlier claims of harassment at the airport linked to his political activities. Keyamo argued that such allegations from an opposition figure require proper verification and should not be used to tarnish the reputation of airport workers.     The minister previously issued Obi a one-week ultimatum, demanding a public apology to airport staff and payment of a ₦25,000 fine for what authorities described as wrongful parking. According to Keyamo, CCTV footage showed the vehicle was clamped after being left unattended, with no knowledge at the time that it belonged to Obi.     This latest exchange highlights ongoing tensions between the opposition leader and the current administration ahead of the 2027 elections. Obi has previously pushed back against Keyamo’s account, describing it as misleading and alleging political targeting.     The situation continues to draw attention as both sides present differing narratives of the airport events.
