Cllr John Beckingham, who serves as the deputy mayor of Kidderminster and as Conservative councillor for Blakebrook & Habberley South on Kidderminster Town Council, will now also represent the Areley Kings East Ward on Stourport Town Council. Cllr Beckingham was officially co-opted as a town councillor during the meeting of Stourport Town Council's full council on Tuesday, July 14. Cllr Beckingham will represent the Areley Kings East Ward until May 2027, when elections will be held for all town council seats. After filling the vacant seat, Cllr Beckingham outlined his priorities, which include 'championing local issues', 'listening to local issues', and 'supporting local business'.
