The latest estimates suggest that Ontario has achieved a 90% rate four years after its commercial iGaming market launched. Now that Alberta did the same, the goal is set at 70% for the first year, as Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) said. By the end of year two, the target is 75%, but AiGC’s CEO Dan Keene thinks that’s actually a low-ball estimate. Keene noted that these targets were not pulled out of nowhere and are based on research, but he thinks Alberta can overachieve on that number. Canada’s first iGaming province changed some regulations since its opening in April 2022, including tweaks on rules and advertising.
