Wizards’ Jamir Watkins Undergoes Surgery For Torn ACL
['Rory Maher']
Hoops Rumors
Wizards wing Jamir Watkins underwent successful surgery on Thursday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced (via Twitter).
Watkins signed a two-way contract last July and played a limited role at the NBA level during the first half of 2025/26.
Instead, Watkins re-signed with the Wizards a couple days later on another two-way contract, which is non-guaranteed and only worth $679K, half of the rookie minimum.
While the recovery timeline for a torn ACL varies to some extent, it typically causes a player to miss at least 10-to-12 months.
In other words, Watkins could end up being sidelined for his entire second season as a result of the injury.
