The Friend of Farmer award is an honor presented by the Indiana Corn Growers Association and Indiana Soybean Alliance Membership & Policy Committee to a policy leader who leads and advocates on issues that benefit Indiana farmers. At Wednesday’s Indiana Ag Policy Summit in Columbus, State Representative Beau Baird was this year’s recipient. “It’s not something I was expecting, and I know the past honorees who have truly been some forefront leaders in Indiana agriculture. They want to raise crops and commodities that are good for their family and good for their community and good for the world. Baird is the ninth recipient of the Friend of Farmer Award.
